NETWORK OPTIMIZATION
A national mortgage firm had a mixed-topology local area network (LAN) environment of Token-Ring and Ethernet with increasing complexity and instability. S & L upgraded the client’s LAN to gigabit fiber connections, and implemented a fault-tolerant Cisco-based switched environment for all servers and desktops. The solution can be upgraded to meet future voice-over-IP telephony requirements. This project significantly improved network performance on the LAN, increased network stability, simplified administration, decreased the time needed to perform tape backups, and provided ample room to accommodate the organization’s growth.
